That's it for another year!  Well done to our athletes who travelled as part of the SKU to Sweden for this event.  You are a credit to your club & association.  Congratulations to our medal winners, we have 3 European Champions in the SKU; David (for the 9th time!), Kenzie & Ahalya. 

Congratulations to Shihan John who is a silver medalist, Jenna & Niamh who are bronze medalists and Niamh, Sarah & Ahalya who were team bronze medalists!  Last but by no means least; David, Kenzie & Jonathan who are our Senior Mens Ippon Rotation World Champions! 

Huge congratulations to Sensei Niamh who graduated as a PE Teacher on 26th of June from Stirling University.  Sensei Niamh studied throughout high school  for national 5's and highers then went onto Uni for 4 years without missing a karate class, a remarkable achievement.  Goes to show what is possible when you time manage.  Well done Sensei Niamh/Miss Conway, we are all very proud of you!

Congratulations to all who took part in the grading & passed.

We had junior members sitting their Dan grades on Friday.  Congratulations to Rory Martin and welcome to the Saltire Karate Black Belt Club. Fantastic grading Rory, you should be very proud of yourself.  

Congratulations also goes to Eve McNaughton for passing her 2nd Dan (Nidan)  Outstanding grading and fantastic technique shown throughout.  You should also be very proud of yourself for such a wonderful achievement.

We had a fantastic day climbing Ben Nevis.  Thankfully the weather forecast was wrong.  No wind, a little rain and snow at the top!  Well done to our very young members who made it all the way.  Rory who led from the front and Ciara who celebrated her 10th Birthday at the top.

Well done to all our members who took part in this event.  Great results for the club & association.  Big shout out to the younger members competing for the first time, you were fantastic.

Massive congratulations to Jenna Dailly who put on an outstanding performance over 2 days at this event.  Jenna lifted gold in the 46kg category and we are all very proud of her achievement!  She made history at her boxing club (Lochee) becoming the first female to win at this event.  Well done Jenna.

Very well done to Jenna & Finn on their nomination for Active Dundee Young Sports Person of the Year 2024-2025.  We are very proud of you!  We are delighted to say that out of the four finalists, Jenna won this amazing award.  Another fantastic achievement for you.

AMA OPEN - 1ST MARCH 2025

Congratulations to our small squad who travelled down to Sheffield to compete at this event.  Fantastic medal haul!  

Congratulations to our WUKF European Champion Jenna Dailly who became the Scottish Schools Golden Gloves Champion on Sunday 23rd February, 2025 at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility.  Jenna did exceptionally well and pictures below show her with Sensei Kevin & Sensei Niamh who were there supporting.  Well done Jenna!

Congratulations to sisters, Alicia & Jenna on passing their Dan grading on 20th December.  A very strong grading by both girls.

Also congratulations to Jenna who passed her level 1 junior coaching course.

Both girls compete at the highest level winning World & European titles between them.  They are outstanding junior coaches at the club and teach our younger members three times per week.

A great year for you both, keep up the good work!

Congratulations to Sensei Niamh on passing her 4th Dan on 20th December.  It was a very proud moment for her & Sensei Kevin to present her with her certificate.  A Dan grading goes far beyond the acutal day it takes place, its the passion and commitment week in and out.  Teaching at all the junior classes and training herself 5-6 days per week, competing at the highest level winning World & European titles along the way, all while studying for her degree.  

Many thanks to Sensei Gordon Mathie for his input into the exam, it was very much appreciated.

SENSEI NIAMH - EUROPEAN TOUR CHAMPION 2024

Huge congratulations to Sensei Niamh who despite being injured for most of the year, has become European Tour Champion competing at events over the year with last one being in Romania on 30th November!  This is the second time in 3 years that she has won. showing amazing consistency.  Now time for her to take some time off & recover!
